| Michigan Economy!! - 12/3/2008 10:28:00 AM (General) We do need to quit focusing on the auto industry. Although it does provide jobs for our state, it is too unstable. First of all the city of detroit needs to be taken back to the citizens, cleaned up and made into a downtown area people can go to and enjoy. We could have the most beautiful city scape. Indeed, our state economy was fostered upon the manufacturing base, particularly the automotive industry. However, leaders of our state have failed to embrace new industry that centered on this base where we have a talented and skilled workforce.
